It was during a recent review of the 2016 BMW M2 that AutoGuide.com Features Editor Sami Haj-Assaad just about lost his darn mind. He praised practically every aspect of the German automaker's spanking-new sports coupe.

Not that we here at Stevens Creek BMW can blame him at all. To the contrary, we understand his zeal entirely.

See for yourself what all the fuss is about in the clip below:

Just beneath the M2's nose, a most incredible drivetrain lurks. Teaming with a six-speed manual transmission, this turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine produces an almost preposterous 365 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard across the range.

The M2 is alternately available with a seven-speed automated manual DCT transmission. So equipped, it can accomplish the 0-to-60 mph sprint with staggering speed, getting there in just 4.1 seconds.
