Exterior Design
The trailblazing exterior design of the iX combines expansive size with aerodynamic enhancements and an intelligent kidney grille with sensor technology to represent futuristic style. The slim twin headlights combine form and function for the iX, which offers wheel designs up to 22 inches.
No BMW SAV is as aerodynamically designed as the iX, which slices out a 0.25 Cd drag coefficient. The battery module is positioned for a low center of gravity, giving the design of the iX purpose, resulting in better handling on San Jose streets, the Lawrence Expressway, and Bay Area highways.
Interior Design
This five-passenger BMW EV provides 35.5 to 77.9 cubic feet of cargo space. Comfort Access senses your arrival after returning to the iX from a San Jose Sharks hockey game at the SAP Center and triggers a choreographed welcome light display while unlocking the SAV's doors. The modern BMW Curved Display appears to float and extends halfway across the dashboard.
Exquisite glass controls, open-pore wood finishes, and a variety of luxurious upholstery (Perforated SensaTec, quilted olive-leaf tanned leather, wool blend and microfiber) add elegance and premium craftsmanship to the iX. The standard Panoramic Sky Lounge LED roof can provide instantaneous shading taking your iX to Alum Rock Park or PayPal Park for a San Jose Earthquakes soccer match.
Performance
With 324 miles of all-electric range, the iX becomes the perfect SAV for multiple short trips around San Jose between Santana Row and the Winchester Mystery House and getaway voyages across the Bay Area. With dual motors and all-wheel drive, the iX is a BMW EV that achieves 610 maximum horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque. With My Modes, San Jose BMW iX owners can customize performance settings and switch between Personal, Sport, and Efficient driving modes.
Technology
The central intelligence of your iX is the most advanced iDrive Operating System to date. This comes with cloud-based navigation to plot trips around the Bay Area, monitor iX charge levels, and locate nearby charging stations around San Jose. The iX is the first BMW to ever unveil 5G technology. Standard wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility allows for smartphone access through the highly advanced BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, which features voice-activated technology. Head home from the San Jose Museum of Art, work, or the Coyote Creek Trail in your iX as you enjoy a bespoke audio experience through the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound system with 30 strategically placed speakers.
Safety
Safety doesn't take a back seat in the iX, which provides Lane Departure Warning and Active Blind Spot Detection as standard features, bringing ease to Bay Area traffic along I-280 or the San Thomas Expressway. By adding the Active Driving Assistance Professional package, San Jose drivers can utilize Traffic Jam Assistant, Active Lane Keeping Assistant with Side Collision Avoidance, and Active Cruise Control with Stop and Go to their iX.
