What is the Difference Between a Front-Wheel and Rear-Wheel-Drive Vehicle?
You can make the choice between a front-wheel-drive (FWD) and rear-wheel drive (RWD) vehicle less complicated by answering a few questions about your personal driving and vehicle expectations. Each type of vehicle offers something special and each has limitations. Consider the type of driving you will mostly be doing, what amount of mileage you expect to put on the vehicle, and what your basic expectations of the vehicle are.

A FWD vehicle offers economy. Because of its design with the engine and drivetrain assembly combined in one area at the front of the vehicle, it’s a simpler design.
